Hdmi passthrough with audio out update#
My speakers include a digital amplifier which is the best way to control the volume. After update my MX player to 1.9.3 on my sony Android TV I saw new option in change logs Passthrough audio but when I am using MX player for playing AAC 5.1 and AC3 5. That took care of the clipping, but I don't want a mixer to change the audio signal. Why? I mean this is a digital output, what do we get by increasing the volume? So, I went to alsamixer and found out that reducing the volume to 86% would give me approximately 0 decibels gain (EDIT: actually it is better to use amixer cset numid=1 0 more precise in getting to 0dB). I purchased a new PC, with a Gigabyte GA-H61MA-D2V motherboard that has on board realtek audio, I also purchased a nvidia geforce GT630 graphics card which has a built in audio processor and hdmi connection which is going to my LG 42PL6010 tv.
